    Code 8 keeps coming up and shutting the Ice Machine down

    It sounds like an issue with the ice thickness sensor. I would see if it is clean or consult a tech if it is beyond your abilities. I hope this helps.

    techjoeb is right, the issue likely is with the ice thickness sensor.

    On a Scotsman, Code 8 means there’s a short freeze cycle. This is caused by:

    Improper water flow Water is splashing onto the ice thickness sensor due to scale buildup Misadjustment of ice thickness sensor A broken, bent, or dismounted ice thickness sensor

    To clean the spillway surface, see the below directions. If you do not know how to remove the components mentioned below, stop and call a technician.

    Run the machine trough a cleaning cycle and save a little of the cleaner to clean the thickness probe. be sure to rinse it afterward.
