Harvest issues with a Manitowoc UY0310A

1st thing you should do is clean it using the chemicals and procedures outlined beginning on page 15 of this manual:

There may be an almost indiscernible coating of lime scale that’s causing the ice to hang up.  Make sure you use only Manitowoc ice machine cleaner and sanitizer.  Follow the cleaning procedures to the letter.

 

BTW:  The machine should be cleaned a minimum of once every six months.  More frequently if your water quality is poor.

The harvest is facilitated by the hot gas solenoid heating the evaporator in the harvest cycle. Also when Harvest starts the water sump should drain..  What is the ambient temp that the unit is in.  The U machines will NOT work below a 65 F.  Nor will they work if dirty.or not level.

Oh, and your float switch is what triggers the harvest cycle.
