Checking gas pressures
What is the best way to check incoming gas pressure in a piece of equipment without a place to screw on the fitting for the gas manometer ?

Probably not. I posted it, but went looking around for it and couldn't find it. Had to look under my own activities to retrieve it.
Anyway, the picture shows one way. Assuming you want to read supply pressure before a line regulator, options are limited. Sometimes you gotta get resourceful.
When I say resourceful, you must use your own judgement and with precautions. For instance, if you're NOT concerned about gas line sizes affecting your pressures and just need the pressure, you can get a reading from a nearby unit that DOES have a hose connection. If that's not the case, then maybe a nearby open burner stove can be used. Sometimes those range units don't have a line regulator and tube nipple from a gas pressure test kit (http://yellowjacket.com/product/gas-pressure-test-kit/) can be slipped over one of the stove burner's orifices (with burner removed).
If the unit you're looking at is hard-piped or no quick-disconnect on the hose, you may have to bite the bullet and simply uncouple the existing gas line to install a temporary black pipe T.
