You’ll need to unplug your unit to let the coils defrost. This will take a few hours, at least, depending on the level of frost. Expect water as the frost melts (put some towels down at the bottom of the fridge, or take the unit outside where draining isn’t a problem, if you can).Â

If the door won’t stay closed, you may also need to level the unit or even raise the front of the unit slightly to encourage the door to close properly. If the front of the unit is lower than the back, the door will be more likely to pop open when someone opens then closes the fridge.Â
