    Hey folks,
So, our old countertop ice maker gave up last night — right in the middle of a movie night when the drinks were lined up. My wife took one look at the watery cubes and said, “We’re not living like this,” and immediately started looking for a replacement.

Now we’re stuck between two options:

    Euhomy Countertop Ice Maker

    https://www.amazon.com/EUHOMY-Countertop-Machine-Auto-Cleaning-Portable/dp/B0BWHZJHPL/?th=1

    Ecozy Nugget Ice Maker

    https://www.amazon.com/ecozy-Countertop-Machine-Chewable-Self-Cleaning/dp/B0F38G4SYV/?th=1

She’s obsessed with those soft, chewable “Sonic-style” nuggets, so the Ecozy caught her eye right away. Meanwhile, I’m more into something that freezes fast, doesn’t require babysitting, and doesn’t sound like a jet engine.

From what I’ve read, the Euhomy seems reliable and makes solid cubes quickly — great for regular drinks and parties. The Ecozy makes those pellet-style nuggets everyone loves but might need a bit more cleaning and maintenance.

My wife says, “If it doesn’t make nugget ice, it’s a no.”
I say, “If it breaks before next summer, it’s a no.”

So yeah, anyone here tried either of these? Which one actually holds up long term — fast, quiet, and keeps the ice coming without a meltdown (literally)?

Would appreciate any real feedback before I end up with another batch of lukewarm sodas 😂❄️

Soft ice makers are nice but they do often have shorter lifespans. you also run the risk of clogging. your regular cubes have better dilution and are more versatile to use with different types of drinks. Honestly if you maintain it properly and make sure you use proper filtration you can make them last years beyond what most people normally get.

You might want to explore the GE Opal.
