TXV fault – high delta between T3T4
I have an Indiglo IY0450 ice machine that is making ice but will eventually go into safe mode. I am getting E08 TXV faults with every cycle…to the tune of about 80 faults per day. After going into the freeze cycle the difference between T3 and T4 is 37F. I believe it should be less than 12F at 5 minutes after the freeze cycle start. T3 temperature never goes below 53F while T4 gets down to 10F. I have thoroughly cleaned the machine, replaced T3 thermistor and it is still doing the same thing. Not sure what to do next.

Sounds like your low on refrigerant. Have you Had gauge’s on it? Check for a leak at the charge ports first. If your not a licensed tech, you will need to find one for this. Rarely is it the TXV unless the operating charge is corroded. But most of these I’ve seen have a danfoss that the valve and charge are chromed.Â

Yeah, I doubt it’s a TXV, could be low on refrigerant.Â

TXV’s don’t fail often, though they do occasionally.
