Convotherm 4 VFD uncertainty.
Hey guys,
Had a VFD die on my Convotherm 4 and I ordered a new one overnight, it showed up and I read the instructions to install it and put it in and there’s something I’m not sure about.
When I set the fan speed to 1 on both fans and start them, the top VFD says 25 and the bottom VFD says 33 or 34, I believe it’s HZ but I’m not sure, either way they are different and that’s what concerns me.

Nevermind.
Somehow it straightened itself out, now they match.

Isn’t it amazing how a $200, off-the-shelf VFD becomes SO expensive once someone at a bench in Germany spent fifteen minutes pre-programming it, labeling it, packing it and putting their own OEM part number on it?

Yeah, it’s pretty amazing.
Especially when they then forget to take off the vent cover on the VFD which is probably what blew the capacitors on the PCB inside.
