E40 is a newer error code. there error is referring to an issue with the active sense countdown timer.
My understanding is that the issue started coming up with a recent firmware or software update. I haven't been told what can be done to troubleshoot or repair that error yet. I will reach out to my contact at Manitowoc and se if he can shed some light on this issue. I probably will not hear back until tomorrow.

What's the third code?
That's a Indigo NXT. So new that they haven't even fully written the manuals yet. Heck, the manual that is out is dated 6/23. Next month! This is revision 10 already, and yet they still have no service codes in the troubleshooting section. And the troubleshooting section is just blank pages. But check if it has the electronic bin level unit and that is was properly unpacked from shipping. It's also the first machine designed to work accurately with RO water. You can also adjust the water probe sensor for RO water. Nice feature.
The change in ownership again has to have an effect on the speed of a new tech manual. They historically had the best one.
It's also interesting that they have gone to a sonar ice thickness probe using 120 hz microphone. This should improve water mineral conductivity problems we've seen over the years.
They also added a water quality sensor to the sump to monitor conductivity. If the water is to hard, it may be what the code 40 is. Just speculation on my part being it is 2 above the know codes.

This might help with your problem.
Manitowoc – Training (manitowocice.com)
The new machines are getting to a point that they will be troubleshooted remotely. Ail Group now owns the ice machine market. Scotsman, Ice-O-Matic and Manitowoc.
