I figured the evaporator temp sensor was for a thermostat, but I can’t find any wiring which isn’t already accounted for. The unit has no cooling fans. I don’t think it defrosts either.

I attached the service manual. Mine is a CB304W, but I’m not sure if it’s completely the same since mine does not have a buzzer. The service manual shows two thermostats though.

Wow, The only fridge I’ve ever seen like that have seen is a Hauer. Without a fan to move cold air up, the refrigerator section will never be stable. After all, cold air is heavier and drops.

I figured the evaporator temp sensor was for a thermostat,

The freezer one with the small tube is a Ranco A13.

I take it this is not a frost free refrigerator. And very very conservative on power usage.

Now that I can see the evaporator, are all 4 grids in the freezer or is one of then in the refrigerator section?

The only heater I see is for drain pan evaporation.

To be honest, looking at the design, I don’t see how it could ever cool a load in the fridge efficiently. Let alone being stable. Ranco no longer makes the A01 style and it’s been gone so long that I can’t even find the original spec’s. Part of the Robertshaw take over and clean out. And unfortunately I’ve tossed all my hard catalogs I had from them.
