R134 receiver drier used in R12 car AC
Can the plumbing be modified so as to use a generic r134 drier in an r12 automotive system. considering this as an alternative to having the orig r12 drier rebuilt. thanks

Short answer, NO. They use different lubricants in automotive than we do.

There is no harm in trying it if the system is already down, rebuilding it would be expensive. lets us know what the outcome was
