I have an electric rational combi oven SCCWE61. It’s constantly draining water in down the drain pipe, and it’s not heating to correct temperature under certain modes. For example I think it has something to do with steam?

It sounds like your Rational combi oven may be experiencing issues with its steam do to a condensate valve issue.

If your Combi is constantly draining your water will not heat up enough to generate steam or enough steam. Look for a condensate solenoid. check for voltage present at the valve. if you have no voltage and water is coming out the drain the valve may be stuck open. you can disconnect power to it for testing only and see if it continues.

You also want to make sure that the incoming water isn’t constantly filling water is going out of the overflow.

Make sure to follow safety precautions while inspecting the oven.

It seems that your Rational combi oven might be having steam issues due to a problem with the condensate valve.

If your combi is continuously draining, the water won’t heat up sufficiently to produce steam. Check the condensate solenoid and ensure there’s voltage at the valve. If there’s no voltage and water is draining, the valve may be stuck open. You can temporarily disconnect power for testing to see if it stops draining.

Additionally, ensure that the incoming water isn’t causing the overflow by constantly filling.

Please remember to follow safety precautions while inspecting the oven.

Does the oven show any codes?

Sometimes the steam boilers do get a crack and leak. Or the level sensor for the water may not be reading right and adding water overfill. All Combi-ovens require extensive maintenance and strict service requirement’s to get the most out of them. So if you operate one, you should check you PM scheduling to conform with what Rational recommends.
