Got a call for a panini / sandwich press. Call is right side heats to 400 then drops in temp and then goes back up to 400 repeatedly. Any insights are appreciated.
Several idea’s, But hands on will be the answer. Look for bad connections that their resistance changes with heat and expansion, intermittent RTD or not bonded RTD to the plate. Or top element open.
I thought that was what you would find. The sensor is attached to the top plate, and the plates are wired in parallel. So with the call for heat the bottom runs overtime till it satisfies the sensor. Add load and it takes a long time for the bottom heat to saturate thru the top plate.
