Up until today, I’d only listened to the few podcasts posted here in this forum. Neither TechTown nor FER has an up-front, clear and distinct single “tab” to easily access all of them in one place. As such, I only explored that today when I checked the links below a recent podcast over at FER. Those links are to iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play and Spotify (the Google Play link appears to be null and void).

So, there’s eighteen of those fifteen minute-or-so podcasts (to-date). I encourage everyone to listen in. There’s definitely some good information there.

I can particularly relate to Dan Reese’s comments/words of wisdom in the “Making Remote Training Work” segment. Technology of equipment…AND how we can connect with tech support (through smartphones) have both dramatically changed in my twenty-two years in this field of occupation.

I’ll add to what he reflects on by mentioning how readily available manuals are now by simply going on-line (I remember PartTown was the first to do that) -versus- back in 1998 when I carried only a few, select hardcopy manuals in my van and often had to drive back to the shop to check ITS hardcopy library (that filled a wall).

OH…and the smartphone’s camera! I use that thing in SO many ways nowadays as compared to when I always had to brandish a torn-n-tatered pocket notebook. I don’t know how many times I had to draw a picture of a unit lacking a model number so I could go peruse the shop’s manual in a nearly futile attempt at identifying it so I could order parts.
