    You are correct on the Simpson 260. I got mine in 1967. Had to replace the core in 1975. But it is not a low independence meter for today’s electronics. Unfortunately, I loaned it to a friend who died and never got it back. I know, I’m a dumb ass for doing so. But he was a close fiend that I trusted. It’s unfortunate that the next generation spouses are stupid.

    I prefer fluke 87 with i400 amp clamp. It covers almost everything you will need except Insulation testing – megging
