Blodgett Convection Oven Motor and Blower Replacement

Nothing is more essential than a motor or blower wheel for an oven. These components are key to keeping units operating and working smoothly. Follow our guide on Blodgett convection oven motor and blower replacement to learn how to get these parts replaced with new ones. 

Replacing the Blower Wheel

  • Step 1 – Disconnect the oven from any electrical power. 
  • Step 2 – Remove the racks and supports from the unit.
  • Step 3 – To remove the blower wheel cover, loosen the baffle retaining screws at each corner and pull the cover forward. 
  • Step 4 – Loosen the set screws in the blower wheel hub.
  • Step 5 – Screw a ⅜” – 16 bolt into the threaded hole of the blower wheel. Drawer the wheel forward from the shaft. 
  • Step 6 – Use graphite to lubricate the motor shaft. Maintain a gap between the back of the blower wheel and the back wall of the oven liner. 
  • Step 7 – Take the new blower wheel and reverse the steps to replace it into the unit. 

Replacing the Oven Motor

Rear Oven Access:

  • Step 1 – Remove the blower wheel from the motor shaft. 
  • Step 2 – Remove the motor attachment bolts. 
  • Step 3 – Lift the motor from the mounting bracket.
  • Step 4 – Remove the motor conduit. 
  • Step 5 – Reverse the previous steps with the new motor. 

No Rear Access:

  • Step 1 – Remove the blower wheel from the motor shaft.
  • Step 2 – Remove the 6 screws in the lower heat collector.
  • Step 3 – Pull the lower heat collector forward and down. 
  • Step 4 – Remove the ¼” nuts from the motor panel. 
  • Step 5 – Pull the motor panel into the oven, then disconnect the motor wiring conduit. 
  • Step 6 – Reverse the previous steps to install the new motor.
