bytechtown
Once you pick out the proper place to put the Blodgett oven, you can get started hooking everything up. With these Blodgett electric deck oven installation instructions, it’s quick and easy to get the oven set up and ready to run.
Attaching the Legs
- Step 1. Tip the bottom oven section backwards.
- Step 2. Attach the 32” front legs with two bolts to the underside of the oven frame.
- Step 3. Lift the oven to the upright position and block up the back end.
- Step 4. Attach the 32” rear legs with two bolts to the underside of the oven frame.
Double Stacking
- Step 1. Place the bottom oven as close to the installation site as possible.
- Step 2. Use two 1” boards and place one end at the right edge of the oven and the other toward the left side.
- Step 3. Lift the upper oven on top of the boards.
- Step 4. Center the top oven over the bottom oven.
- Step 5. Remove the board from one side and place a piece of lumber that’s about 4’ long under the angle skirt. Lift up to remove the board.
- Step 6. Push the top oven until the base fits tight against the oven side.
- Step 7. Remove the other board by repeating Step 5.
- Note: Don’t use pry bars to lift the oven sections.
Ventilation
- Step 1. Assemble the back vents.
- Step 2. Screw the back vent to the rear of each oven section with the offset end toward the bottom. For stacked units, the top of the lower back vent fits inside of the bottom of the upper vent.
- Step 3. Secure the trim to the top right of the upper oven. The flanges on the right side, back and front of the trim collar fit under the crown. Use three metal screws to attach the left side of the trim to the top of the oven body.
- Step 4. Remove all tags.
Ultra Rokite Decks
- Step 1. Slide ½ of the Ultra Rokite shelf through the door until it rests on the deflector. Move the shelf to the rear until it drops into the shelf support. Push it to the right.
- Step 2. Slide the remaining shelf through the door until it rests on top of the other half. Move the shelf to the rear until it drops the shelf support. Push all the way to the left.
- Step 3. Move both shelves in so the center joint closes.
- Step 4. Levels the shims provided if provided.
- Step 5. Refer to preheating instructions supplied with the shelf.
- Note: Only use Blodgett Ultra Rokite Decks. Using any decks other than Blodgett will invalidate the warranty.
Electrical Connections
Before connecting any of the electrical aspects of the unit, check the rating plate to make sure that the oven is being connected to the proper electrical supply.
- Step 1. Remove the trim cover on the right lower front of the oven to access the supply connecting terminals.
- Step 2. Run the supply wires through the conduit to the front of the oven.
- Step 3. Connect the supply wires to the circuit breaker on the lower right front corner of the control panel.
