Antunes VCT Conveyor Diagnostics & Repair

Did you get a service call with complaints of a conveyor not rotating correctly? If the issue isn’t a simple jam, there’s a few things you need to look for to resolve the problem. More commonly though, the culprit is often the chain. This guide will walk you through everything you need to know for Antunes VCT conveyor diagnostics and repairs so you can get things turning.

Chain is Derailed

  • Step 1. Access the chain – To gain access to the chain to determine it’s derailed, you need to remove the side panel.
  • Step 2. Diagnose the conveyor chain – Check if the chain is on the sprockets. If it’s derailed, you’ll notice either it’s just off a sprocket or two, or it’ll have completely fallen off and is sitting at the bottom of the compartment.
  • Step 3. Repair the derailed chain – Run the chain back over the sprockets. A diagram for how it should be routed is located inside the compartment to ensure you install it correctly. Be sure to test that it’s rotating correctly after repairing.

Chain is Installed Backwards

  • Step 1. Access the chain – To gain access to the chain to determine it’s installed backwards, you need to remove the side panel.
  • Step 2. Diagnose the conveyor chain – Check if the chain is on backwards. A key indicator of this will be the toaster conveyor is sending buns back out of the top instead of through the conveyor.
  • Step 3. Repair the backwards chain – To correct this, remove the chain and reposition it over the top sprocket. Then put it back around the conveyor drive gear, back onto the lower drive sprocket and let it catch the tensioner sprocket. There is also a diagram to show how to properly route the chain inside the compartment.
