How to Replace a Globe Slicer Blade

As the kitchen crew slices a way, the blade will continue to get dull. Whether it results in damages or just too much wear for a sharpener to remedy, it could eventually need to be swapped out. This guide will show you how to replace a Globe slicer blade safely so you can get on to your next repair.

This guide is applicable to most Globe slicer models such as the S series.

Removing a Globe Slicer Blade

  • Step 1. Remove the carriage – Loosen the knob at the lower front of the unit. Then the carriage can be lifted off the slicer.
  • Step 2. Remove the sharpener – Loosen the knob on the back side of the unit. Then lift the sharpener off the unit.
  • Step 3. Remove the knife guard – Remove the knob from the back side of the unit. Then carefully take off the guard.
    • Note: Wear cut-resistant gloves when working near or directly with the slicer blade.
  • Step 4. Remove the blade – Loosen and remove the three mounting screws. Then, carefully take off the blade without touching the sharp edge.

Installing a Globe Slicer Blade

  • Step 1. Install the blade – Carefully install the blade and line up the screw holes. Then secure it with the mounting screws.
    • Note: Wear cut-resistant gloves when working near or directly with the slicer blade.
  • Step 2. Reinstall the cover – Place the knife cover over the blade. It can only be installed one way because it’s slotted. Then secure it by sliding the knob’s rod in place and tighten it.
  • Step 3. Reinstall the carriage – Place the carriage back into position and secure it by tightening the knob.
  • Step 4. Reinstall the sharpener – Slide the sharpener back into position and secure it by tightening the knob.Â
