How to Replace a Perfect Fry Fryer Fusible Link: PFA & PFC

Some components need to be routinely replaced to avoid catastrophic issues later on. This guide will show you how to replace a Perfect Fry fryer fusible link, which is a critical part for fire safety with the unit.

This guide is applicable to Perfect Fry PFA and PFC models.

Perfect Fry Fusible Link Replacement

This part must be replaced at least twice a year.

  • Step 1. Block the fire suppression system – To avoid having the fire extinguisher deploy during the replacement, you need to place the safety pin into the hole on the extinguisher.
  • Step 2. Disassemble the fire suppression system – Some of the fire suppression system needs to be removed to safely replace the fusible link. Start by removing the spring at the top and then pulling the cotter pin for the fire suppression system pull handle.
  • Step 3. Remove the link – Now that there’s no more tension on the fusible link’s cords, you can easily slide it off the hooks and remove it from the cooking compartment.
  • Step 4. Install the new fusible link – The new fusible link can easily be installed by placing the hooks through the link holes. It’s vital to make sure it’s facing the right way or the fire suppression system won’t deploy properly should a fire occur.
  • Step 5. Reassemble the fire suppression system – Reconnect the cotter pin and spring. Then check that the bracket is loose around the safety pin. If it isn’t loose, you will need to verify everything has been reinstalled correctly.
  • Step 6. Reengage the fire suppression system – Once everything is properly reassembled, remove the safety pin from the fire extinguisher to ensure the system is ready to go.Â
