Hoshizaki KM Ice Machine Float Switch Diagnostics & Testing
bytechtown
If you need to determine whether or not a part is faulty, there’s usually some simple tests you can perform. This guide will go over Hoshizaki KM ice machine float switch diagnostics and testing so you can decide whether it needs to be replaced or not.
Testing a Hoshizaki Float Switch
There are two types of float switches you may see on a Hoshizaki KM ice machine. Both are tested the same way.
Connect the multimeter – Your test leads might be too big but a paper clip straightened out and cut and half can be attached to help fit into the plug. Set the meter to measure continuity.Â
Check functionality – You can dunk the float switch 10 times in a small container of water. If you get continuity 10 consecutive times the switch is in working order.
Note: While dunking the float switch, up is closed, down is open.
