Multiplex Water Booster Pump Installation

Water booster pumps are a great upgrade to ensuring that plumbing systems are at their best, so technicians can expect that a variety of spaces will request this installation. If you need a quick guide for a Multiplex water booster pump installation, we have the steps you need to get familiar with this task. 

The following guide is made for the Multiplex Model WBK10 and WBK10X Water Booster Pump, P.N. 00215639 (120 VAC, 60 Hz) and P.N. 00216382 (220 VAC, 50 Hz). 

Installing Water Booster Pump to Wall

The following steps are intended for mounting on wall studs. Concrete wall mounting requires different hardware. 

• Step 1. Gather mounting hardware – Find the 6 lag screws and the mounting bracket. 
• Step 2. Mount J-channel – Mount the J-channel to the wall using 3 screws. 
• Step 3. Mount panel to wall – Mount the booster panel by raising the top of the panel over the J-channel, then place the panel against the wall and slide it down until it catches on the channel. 
• Step 4. Screw bottom of panel – Use the remaining 2 screws to mount the bottom of the panel to the wall. 
• Step 5. Attach water inlet – Attach a ½” ID water inlet line to the inlet fitting, labeled #27, using the barb stem, nut and clamp provided. Then attach another ½” ID line to the water outlet, labeled #28, using the remaining barb stem, nut and clamp. 
• Step 6. Turn on water supply – Turn on the main water supply to the booster assembly.
• Step 7. Plug in power cord – Plug the power cord into the wall receptacle. The pump won’t begin to run until the low water pressure circuit times out. When the pump cycles “off”, the gauge should read 85 psi (59 bar).
• Step 8. Bleed off water flow – Bleed off water flow until the pressure drops to 65 psi (4.5 bar). The pump motor should start to run, then turn “off” when pressure reaches 85 psi (5.9 bar).

Installing Water Booster Pump to Support Stand

• Step 1. Gather mounting hardware – Collect the mounting hardware that comes with the support stand. 
• Step 2. Mount channel to stand – Face the hook end of the J-channel towards the floor, then mount the channel to the top portion on the side of the stand.
• Step 3. Fasten channel – Fasten the channel with 3 carriage bolts and locking nuts. Make sure to tighten all the bolts completely. 
• Step 4. Place pump panel onto channel – Place the water booster pump panel onto the J-channel by lifting the back edge of the panel above the channel and hooking it on the lower edge of the J-channel. 
• Step 5. Attach lower edge – Use two hex screws and locking nuts to attach the lower edge of the pump panel to the channel on the support stand. Tighten the screws and nuts completely.
