Merrychef e4s Error Code Diagnostics

The code on the oven display isn’t something to be alarmed by. It’s meant to help you, the service tech, figure out what’s wrong with the unit and how you can remedy it. This guide for Merrychef e4s error code diagnostics will help get you through what the code means and the causes for it.

Error CodeDescriptionCauses
E101: Magnetron has failed to energizeThe magnetron isn’t working correctly. Components in the microwave circuit have failed.
E102: Heater incorrect currentThe heating element isn’t working correctly. For elements with a current greater than 1 amp, one or more of the heating elements have failed. For currents less than 1 amp, a wiring fault is preventing power from reaching the element.
E103: Ambient overheat >70°CThe control area is operating above temperature. The cooling fan has failed or is blocked. The cooling fan is wired incorrectly.Inlet filter is blocked or dirty. The inlet air is too hot.
E104: Magnetron/cavity overheatThe oven cavity and/or magnetrons are overheating. The cooling fan has failed or is blocked.Inlet filter is blocked or dirty. The SRB has failed (if E103 or E106 haven’t been triggered).Magnetron has failed.Wiring connection issue causing the fault.
E105: Supply frequency high/lowThe power supply frequency is outside specifications needed to operate.Incorrect mains voltage.Poor internal or external wiring connectionsFaulty SRB
E106: Cavity reaches 25°C above setpoint once it has been controlling at setpointThe oven temperature setpoint was exceeded.Product fire within the cavityConvection fan has failedConvection fan has loose or missing impeller
E107: Communication errorThere’s a loss of communication between the QTS and SRB.SRB/QTS connection cable is loose, unplugged or damagedFaulty SRB or QTS
E108: QTS PM errorThe QTS or SRB has either the incorrect or no PM fitted. PM was changedPM was removed
E110: SRB version conflictThe firmware running the SRB isn’t supported.Update the SRB firmware
E111: Cavity sensor errorThe cavity sensor is broken or unplugged.Thermocouple isn’t connected or is brokenSRB has failed
E112: SRB sensor failThe SRB ambient temperature sensor has failed.Shorted SRB temp sensor
E113: Magnetron fail on without requestThe magnetron is operating despite not having been asked to do so.Triac, Diode or relay has short circuited on the SRB
E116: Heater off on requestThe Cavity does not reach 100°C in 30 minutes.Heater element failure
E117: Magnetron overheat statWhen running the microwave, the magnetron stat has an open circuit.Ambient temperature is too highUnit is near other heat sourcesAir filter is blocked or dirtyMagnetron has failed
