bytechtown
Protect against back siphonage and ensure that water systems stay safe when you have a Febco PVB. Febco pressure vacuum breaker installation shouldn’t be difficult when you follow our guide below. That way, safety can stay a priority.
The following is made for the Febco pressure vacuum breaker model 765.
Febco Pressure Vacuum Breaker Installation
- Step 1 – Check any local codes for requirements and restrictions before starting installation.
- Step 2 – Shut off the main water supply and open the downstream valves. Flush the pipeline of foreign material before installing the vacuum breaker.
- Step 3 – Make sure the air inlet operates in the vertical position to prevent malfunctions during installation. Check that the pressure vacuum breaker will have at least 12” above the highest downstream outlet and 3” clearance on either side.
- Step 4 – Apply pipe dope to the male threads of the supply and discharge piping, avoiding the interior surfaces of the valve.
- Step 5 – Thread the device in line, placing a wrench only on the ball valve hex ends. Keep the pipe dope off the interior surfaces of the valve.
- Step 6 – Connect the downstream pipe. Make sure all the connections are secure.
- Step 7 – After installation, slowly open the inlet ball valve to pressurize the device. Slowly open outlet ball valve to fill down-streamline.
