How to Replace an Antunes Rocker Switch
bywebsupport
Most Antunes equipment utilizes a rocker switch to power it on and off. So if that part isn’t working, your customer is going to need you to come out ASAP to replace it so they can have a working unit. Whether it’s a toaster, steamer or egg station, these instructions can help. While it’s demonstrated on an Antunes vertical contact toaster, this video guide will show you how to replace an Antunes rocker switch so you can make the swap on most of their equipment.
Rocker Switch Replacement
- Step 1. Power down equipment – Depending on the specific model, ensure it’s completely powered down before you begin working on it. Turn it off and unplug the power cord so it’s safe to open up and replace parts on.
- Step 2. Remove panels – To access the rocker switch, you need to remove panels to access internal components and the back side of the switch. The specific location of the panel you remove is dependent on the specific model you’re servicing. For the vertical contact toaster you also have to remove the feeder at the top of the unit.
- Step 3. Remove the switch – To remove the old switch, you will have to break it further. You can use a screwdriver to force the old switch through the front. You’ll probably have to work it back and forth to push it through until it comes free.
- Step 4. Disconnect the old switch – Once you have forced out the old switch from the unit, the leads need to be removed from the terminals.
- Step 5. Connect the new switch – Take the leads that were disconnected from the old switch and connect them to the terminals of the new one.Â
- Step 6. Secure the switch – The part kit should come with a black block. It can be placed over the new switch to help install it into the unit. Guide the leads back while you use the block to push the switch into place. Be careful not to pinch any wires.Â
- Step 7. Button up the unit – After the new part is installed, be sure to reinstall any panels that were taken off and power up the unit to verify it works properly.Â
