I have a very old Vulcan Range with 6 burners, a griddle and 2 ovens. Can’t find the model number on the unit anywhere because both kick plates are missing. Needing to replace the burner knobs. Unit has to be 50 years old. Any way to identify?

    Knobs?

    KNOBS???

I’d hug you if I could, because that’s such an easy fix.  On the other hand, you’d probably want to punch me for my answer.

There’s another parts vendor who sells generic knobs (bowtie-shaped, chrome-plates metal ones with a set screw) that would PERFECTLY suit your needs.  UNFORTUNATELY…the proprietors of this forum won’t allow me to post names of other parts vendors.

I think I can give you a part number, though.

    130-1044

    Google that.

nlucak; Let’s see if we an help you find out what range you have.  First get out a tape measure and measure the width of the range. It will be either a 60 inch or 72 inch depending on the griddle width.  Is it black or stainless steel?   Your spec plate will be seen by taking a flash light,  getting on the floor, and looking at the frame under the left oven door above the safety valve.   Does it have a hydraulic safety valves?  Or millivolt with a thermocouple?

Up to last spring it was easy to research old ITW equipment all the way back to the thirties. But today a lot has been dropped off.  However, the “D” handle knob, dials, and handles are common because the same style valve is used on all gas equipment burners for many many years.  Many of us always carried spare on our trucks cause everybody looses them or breaks the cheap plastic ones with pans and carts.  Now temp control dials are a different story.
