Lincoln Impinger 1300 series oven not heating. All of the fans work, the belt moves as it should, the cool down delay works, but the oven does not heat.
Lincoln 1301-4 oven. All of the fans work, the conveyor works, the oven just stopped heating. The oven is not crucial and has been taken out of service but I would like to get it running again. I have salvaged parts out of other broken ovens to get the conveyor working but trouble shooting the heating has me a bit stymied. I have the service manual and have some new and salvage parts available, just would like to know where to start and if I have the parts I need.

You’ll need the serial number to refer to the correct schematic.
Pretty straightforward operation. Temp control board receives power. A type J thermocouple senses temperature. The board calls for heat and output to the heat relay coil via a high limit and an air switch. The relay closes and energizes the heating elements.
Use your voltmeter to troubleshoot where you’re getting power and where you’re not.
In my experience, the air switch is often the culprit. Its sensing tube gets clogged with crud, so the switch can no longer prove the main fan is running. Disconnect the tubing from the air switch. Clear that tube and port in the oven with compressed air.
Otherwise maybe a control issue with the temp control board, bad air switch, high limit or such.

I have the correct schematic from the service manual. I have replaced the air switch, the high limit switch. Am waiting for the relay and ETC to arrive. I put my probe on the ETC where the red wires connect and get 120. I will blow out the air tubes.
The oven was heating and then would stop. I unplugged the wires on the relay, cleaned the connectors, and reconnected them. This helped for several days then nothing. Plugging and unplugging worked again for a while – hours, and then nothing. Finally, this helped no longer.
Also, I have another oven, at another location, that is constantly tripping the heat breaker, not the high temp but the one on the front of the oven. Any ideas where I should start.

I looked at the manual and I don’t know of any breaker on the FRONT. There’s one on the right side, just forward of the fuses. A 0.7a mini-breaker in series with the conveyor motor.
If it’s tripping, there’s probably a short in the gear motor. It’s a DC motor with a commutator and brushes to energize the armature. Over time, the brushes wear and dust from the brushes can build up in there. The dust is conductive and can make all kinds of stupid things happen. One of those being…tripping the breaker. If that’s the case, then replace the conveyor motor.
That’s not the only possibility, but what I’ve seen in the past. I HAVE seen those breakers go bad though too.

Thanks again for the info. After going back through the schematics, it is the thermocouple, Item EE on the Control Compartment Blowup drawings.
Went to blow out the line and the connector between the high temp tubing and tubing to the switch broke in half. So, I will replace the high temp tubing as it has been fixed a couple times and is too short to cut off and put a new connector in.

Finally checked every part and followed through the entire circuit. Took the cover off of the motor and heating element and found the black wire to the heating element burned off. The bolt that holds the element in place was burned and the nuts welded to the element. Replaced the element and the oven works like a charm.

Was wondering if anyone could pass along some details on replacing the thermocouple on Lincoln Impinger 1301-4? This is the one that sits behind finger 4 on the right lower side of the oven. I have ordered the replacement part and the unit itself (probe) measures about 16″ long. Would like to see if anyone had an idea to install this. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Service manual above from Parts Town. Didnt look through the whole thing but there is instructions on replacing out parts on your unit.

Abeldis; Hope you ordered a new insulating gasket for the back. It has to be replaced every time you remove the motor assy. Basically your going to open the control panel and remove the rear motor cover and motor assembly. The thermistor is just in a spring wire loop inside the back just ahead of the blower area. Make sure you know what color wires go where in the controller. They are polarized.
