How to Remove a Bizerba Slicer Blade
bytechtown
Over time, a slicer blade can become too dull. While end users can sharpen them to get them back to cleanly slicing, sometimes they just need to be fully replaced. That’s where the technician comes in to save the day. This video guide can help walk you through how to remove a Bizerba slicer blade and how to install a new one.
The steps are applicable to Bizerba electric slicers such as the GSPHD33 unit.
Blade Removal
- Step 1. Power down – Set the dial to 0, press the power button to turn off the unit and unplug the power cord to fully power down the unit before beginning to replace the blade.
- Step 2. Open the plate – Use the dial to open the gauge plate to the sharpening position.
- Step 3. Uninstall the cover – Remove the blade cover to better access the blade.Â
- Step 4. Remove the screws – Use a screwdriver to remove the four screws mounting the blade onto the unit.
- Note. Wear cut-resistant gloves when placing hands on or near the blade.
- Step 5. Remove the blade – The blade can sometimes be stuck on the shaft. Give it a slight push from the back to pull it off of the unit.Â
Blade Installation
- Step 1. Install the blade – After inspecting the new blade, slide it onto the shaft. Ensure the holes line up properly when seating it.Â
- Step 2. Mount the blade – Use the four screws that were previously removed to secure the blade onto the unit.Â
- Step 3. Clean the blade – Before covering the blade, use food-safe cleaner to wipe down any possible germs or dirt that were left on the blade during installation.
- Step 4. Reinstall the cover – Once the blade is clean and dry, reinstall the blade cover.
- Step 5. Adjust the knob – Use the knob to adjust the gauge plate back to its normal setting.
