Description of the case with dimensions would help. Usually the serial number plate has the model number and refrigerant amount and type. It can be inside top left or on the back. It also has the electrical specs.  If inside it will be above the freeze/load zone. It can also be in the compressor compartment.

25 years is normal end of life in coolers, but freezers are a different animal. They usually have a Copeland k series semi hermetic compressor in that time frame and 502 with mineral oil. That and cold walls instead of a normal evaporator, stainless interior, and large fin spacing on the condenser for minimum maintenance requirements. ..Â
