  • How do I align the gears on a model 297 toaster?

Posted by guest on April 24, 2015 at 12:00 am

I am replacing the worn out gears on a Prince Castle 297 toaster.

How do i make sure the gears are aligned properly?

Assuming you’re not asking about the sprockets.

There will be a 1/64″ clearance between the

conveyor gear and motor gear when properly aligned. Improper alignment will cause the conveyor to periodically bind.

When the conveyor is put in place, locate the two 3/32″ allen screws below the conveyor on each side. Adjusting these screws can raise or lower the conveyor to increase or decrease the clearance between the gears. The screws will also level it out so that the gears are not tilted to one side and even contact with the teeth is established. Hope this helps.
