Hoshizaki DCM-270 makes perfect ice for about a week then stops
Hoshizaki DCM-270 that will make perfect ice for about a week then stops. I have checked the refrigerant and the pressures/temps are right on according to the service manual. Water is good, production when first started up is good. I had this machine in my shop for 3 days working great after going through and cleaning and testing. I reinstalled it and a week later it had stopped producing ice. when I got the call the auger was rotating, the ice was empty, the evap line was frozen, compressor running, condenser fan running, and the water reservoir was full. This machine is in a heavy use area. any idea what could cause this?

Check your balance plate micro-switch operation. Either the ice is bridging from cleanlinessor erosion of the ice flow or the microswitch has gotten wet at some point and is erratic.
