have a Berkel 829A slicer, how do I replace the support assembly

That second link should be of much interest. Since you’re trying to remove something from the shaft, and nothing is particularly called the carriage support, I must assuming you’re talking about the Berkel 0829-00012 CARRIAGE ASSY COMPLETE | Parts Town 

 

Taking a look at the carriage assembly and the round rail that goes into it, I’m not seeing any threading. It looks like there’s a screw holding it on on either side, however.

the rod that the carriage support rides on  has a screw on the back end and a retaining ring on the inside, you need to remove both in order to slide the rod out he back. be warned if there is any residue built up on the bushings of the support that rod will not slide easy….good luck
