Pilot light is hard to ignite for American Range oven

Could be:

A failing thermocouple/ thermopile (no model # given, so I don’t know which) A dirty pilot burner A gas pressure issue A number of other possible issues

American Range likes to have the pilot set off too the right of the hole that you insert your lighter into, use a flashlight to ensure that you are indeed trying to light the correct spot. Unfortunately as ectofix says, without more information it’s hard to be more helpful
