Cleveland skillet parts
Posted by scottm on January 21, 2021 at 7:58 amDoes anybody out there have picture or a link to one for a Cleveland Pt# KE602434-2? This is for a “Flue Front” for a skillet. All the part sites I use and others I could not find. The parts breakdown in the manual makes it unsure if this is what I need. I need a photo of one to make sure. I’ll try to upload a picture of the one on my skillet and hopefully someone can let me know if it is what I’m looking for. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank you in advance.

Thanks. Do you have the name of that supplier? Also I attached a picture of the part that I think needs replacing. It appears there is a piece missing based on the other skillet I have or the tech before me added one. Where it is all wavy the other skillet has a 1/2 in. piece along it.

I messaged you some information. I hope you can procure a replacement. That may not be a part that Cleveland would typically keep in stock on a shelf.

That’s some serious heat distortion. Is there residual marks from a stiffener on the panel? Like in ectofix’s picture when expanded.

With that much heat distortion, I’d be looking at the firing rate and burners for a problem. What do they use the unit for? Braziers usually work around the boiling point of water. Are they using it as a gridle?

@fixbear , I think he’s saying that the part-in-question is missing on the affected tilt skillet. That’s what I’m guessing anyway.
You do bring up a good point, though. Perhaps there’s a gas supply issue which might be generating bigger flames than designed.
Bigger isn’t always better.

Since my education and work experience is in commercial HVAC/R and not kitchen appliance repair, I’m not sure if a piece is missing from this flue area or if something was added by the previous tech they fired. Two identical units (by model#) but the flue is different between the two as seen by the attached photo compared to previous photo. One seems to be open the other closed. Any ideas?

It appears that you have a very early version and a later one. Looks like the later one had a bit of forcing done on it. The wavy one may have been firing when tilted at some point.

I was wondering about that. The serial #’s are not that far apart. I’m guessing the last 2 digits may be the different series tho, which explains the different look. WT6066-07A-01 and WT6270-07A-02

07A means they were manufactured Jan 2007.

Scott, you may want to consider the flue replacement kit for this. Pricey, yes. But gives you the parts and gaskets to correct and bring it up to the June 07 and later. They did have problems with the early ones. Part number is; <b itemprop=”name” style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Cleveland KE002486-4 Flue Replacement Kit, SGL40T1

Yep, I already put in for a P.O. for it. I know once I start taking it apart I’m going to wish I had all the gaskets and other parts. Convincing the guy with the purse strings is another matter tho.

Like to see what Ectofix thinks on this.
