    Hello,

I have a hoshizaki model number KM-500MAH. The unit works perfectly fine at night until the morning and during the day it gives 3 beep alarm at least 4 times during the day.

I manged to replace the float switch thinking it was the problem but still gives the 3 beep alarm only during the day .

can it be a temperature problem ?

That alarm means it took more than 60 min in the freeze cycle. Means the refrigeration system is beyond it’s capacity.

    1) Check the condenser to be clean and the fan to be running at speed.

    2) Check that the float valve is not leaking and flows when open.

    3) Check that the hot gas valve is not leaking. Feel the liquid line after the TXV downstream of the HGV valve to see if it is hotter than upstream.

Other than that you may be low on charge or have a bad TXV adjustment.

Do you have the original part number of the fan motor? What rpm speed should it be ?

The replacement that I see is a 1/15 hp dual speed motor that runs 1600 rpm and 1300 rpm. You can find it here; Hoshizaki FM116A Fan Motor Kit, 115V | Parts Town

Be aware, I do not work for Partstown or TechTown. I’m a retired tech of 55 years of service that likes to help others understand their machines and make repairs without just replacing parts.

Now you can tell if the fan is cooling the refrigerant properly by the temperature of the top pipe and the bottom pipe on the condenser. The bottom will be about 10 degrees above the room ambient temp. The top should be hot enough to burn you. Tells you the compressor is under load and the system has a adequate charge.

    Just a moment...

Thanks fixbear , the fan motor on the machine is a total different fan motor, its not the FM116A.(the one on theachine looks alot smaller and there is noting written on the motor) I’ll be purchasing the original part number and see if it fixes the problem

Did you “feel the liquid line for temp. Like I said, it should be about 10 to 15 degrees above the room ambient temperature. That will tell you if the condenser is operating efficiently. BTW, if i is colder, the cooling system is under preforming.
