  • How to flush a Minipack MV45 cryovac & sealing bar issues

    Hi all,

I’m looking at a cruddy oil window- lots of sediment. Anyone recommend a youtube video for flushing?

Also one bar isn’t sealing one is, tried swapping the good bar to the other side and it still doesn’t seal. They say the bladder is in good shape- but I’ll be checking that out tomorrow and haven’t verified.

Aside from bladder issues, could it be a timer or relay?

    Thank you!

With machine off, ohm the heater circuit at the relay outputs. Then ohm the heater. Should be the near same value. If not, check the contact surface of the bar post.

If the values are the same, check the relay contacts and coil continuity. Power up and see if the relay closes.

I forgot to mention that the bellows has a lot to do with the electrical connection to the seal bar. Jumper wires and diaphragm pressure for contact.

As for flushing the vacuum pump, there is a drain on the bottom front of the pump. Best done when warm. Flushing is just with multiple changes of vacuum oil. It has to be changed monthly, as all oils capable of low pressure are hydroscopic and absorb moisture at a high rate. Even when not being used. Sludge in the bottom is from the proteins in the meat and bacteria. Now if you have coarse fines, that’s a different problem. Like a pump rebuild level.
