Hey all, glad to be here, hoping to learn and help.

I’m working on a Henny Penny OFG-322. The problem is one of the doors has been knocked off. I’ve got the hinges ordered but I’m unsure of the rivet size to reinstall. If anyone has any insight I would be most appreciative.

Rivet? Are you sure they aren’t flat head Pozi-drive screws?

Yes there is no screw head at all, it is completely flat. Hence why I thought of rivets.

The ones I’ve seen are a 8-32 by 1/2 oval head Pozi-drive screw. I’ve also come across some pan head pozi-drive drill screws. Are you talking the door panel or the case side of the hinge?

It’s the hinge that attaches the door to the fryer.

I’m familiar with the hinge. Are you talking the case side or the door side of it. The door side is threaded for a pan head screw to go through the door and thread into the hinge. The case side has a 37 degree taper for a flat head screw. I don’t remember if they were a number 8 or 10, But I do remember that they were oval head Pozi-drive. They would not be rivets due to the need to remove the doors at times.

If this unit was used in a prison setting, they may have hammered down the heads to prevent inmates from being able to remove parts. Just a informational item on some of the odd ball ones we see..
