My ice machine control took an electrical wack. I ordered the new board and control board just in case. After i replaced the new control board and display, all i get is dashes on the display, and the heartbeat lights are red. Disconnect the display cable and plug back in, and heartbeat light is still red. I ordered a new control board just to be sure, and have the same problem.

What kind of electrical hit did it take? Normally to replace the control board one has to copy from the USB and load it to the new one. However, it can be programmed from the display. Also, it should have been troubleshooter before replacing anything.

Here is a copy of a Indigo service manual.:MAN-Indigo_sm.pdf (partstown.com)

Your power hit may have damaged the low voltage transformer/power supply. Which case you’ll have nothing.

    Check incoming voltage

Dashes on the display with solid red heartbeat LEDs usually means the control isn’t booting or isn’t seeing proper power/communication. Since you’ve tried both a new board and display, I’d stop suspecting parts and start checking incoming voltages and harnesses. Verify correct line voltage at the board, check the transformer output, and make sure neutral is solid (Manitowoc boards are very sensitive to missing/loose neutral). Also inspect the display cable and main harness for damage from the electrical event – a fried harness or transformer will cause exactly this symptom. Red heartbeat = board powered but not initializing.
