  • Rational scc WE 62 Leaking from Hand Shower

Our Rational leaks water when you pull out the hand shower (from the hand shower itself, not the hose).
Its leaking from the nozzle tip, the clip that holds it on, and the back of the hand gun.
Would replacing the gun fix it, is there a gasket missing, or do you think it’s a larger issue?

Its kind of hard to say without seeing the nozzle tip and gun. is there any way you could post some pictures?

      Thank you!

I’ve posted a few pictures, they need to be clicked on to enlarge & show the whole photo.

It starts leaking when the shower gun is pulled out a few inches and stops when it retracts/pulls back in.

That’s common. the handgun gets banged around and misused a lot. Recommend just replacing it. But be sure to check the hose fitting at the bottom as they also get fatigued. Most times they just replace the whole unit as the rotating seal, hose, and spray handle are made to last the same amount of time.

Thank you- I really appreciate the thoughts and time!

The gun doesn’t leak until pulled from tulip a few inches, then is leaking from the gun. I’m not seeing leakage from the hose anywhere but the gun and where it attaches.

Does anyone have a(or know of an online) schematic diagram of the hand shower?

That’s because the reel and hose solenoid opens when you start to pull it out. Replace the spray wand or the assembly. Often the rotary fitting will also leak soon or near when the handle does.

Theres 2 o-rings usually where the sprayer attaches to the hose. If you pull the pin out of the sprayer handle you can separate it from the hose and you’ll see them. They may just need replacement.

      My man!

I have zero O rings in the head or on the line, so I’m going to get some 11x2mm and try that out first. I really can’t thank you enough- cheers!

Bought and replaced the 2 o rings which stopped all leaks except from the nozzle tip of the gun, which is probably telling me I need to buy a new gun nozzle.
