Screen showing LA code and temp readout of -20°. It can be unplugged and plugged back in then work for hours on end correctly. I haven’t actually seen unit mess up and I’m not very familiar with refrigeration equipment. I need to know what the LA code means. I have emailed and called Utility directly and haven’t heard back.

It’s just a Low Alarm. Adjust the alarm setting or raise the box temperature.

I feel like something is going on with controller though. If thermistor was bad it would read wrong temp all the time. But it seems like something is wrong with controller to hold between 38-41° most of the day then all of a sudden read -20°

There could be an issue with your refrigerator if you’re seeing an LA code and a low temperature readout of -20°. This alarm can be triggered when the temperature inside the unit drops below a certain threshold. It could be a sign of improper insulation or an issue with the refrigeration system. You can try troubleshooting the system to identify and resolve the underlying issue.

Actually a intermittent thermistor is a possibility. Remember that in a evaporator area there is a lot of movement from constant expansion and contraction.

Place a mechanical thermometer inside the box to verify the temp. A cooler alarm should be set between 28F and 32F (depends on product) degrees low and 40F high. It may just be the plug on the controller.
