I have a Southbend steamer, model STRE-3D.  The water fill flows constantly and drains constantly.  Is there an auto shutoff available for this?

The steamer does have to have a small amount of water going into the drain box to cool the steam and protect your drain system.  But if you are getting a excess of water, perhaps your on-off valve handle has wear and not fully closing the drain line. Or your water solenoid is leaking.  There is a spray nozzle at the top of the drain box that controls the cooling flow.

The manufacturer intentionally has a water flow when the supply valve is turned on so that there is a cool down period after cooking.  If you wanted to design and install a automatic system, it would require delay timers and interlocks to the steamer control system.
