It sounds to me like an igniter problem, either flame sensing or initial spark is not proper, it may show a spark every now and then but if it’s not consistent arcing, then it won’t light reliably.

We ordered a new igniter for it, hopefully that’s what it is, guess we’ll have to work our way through this one.

I take that back, since I found good picture of the burner and it is inconel screens. So check for holes or surface blockage. Orifice and air mix are important on these.

Make sure to check the oven venting as it will effect mixture if restricted to the IR unit. It won’t bother the oven burner much, but definitely the IR.
