The service light means the machine needs service. Once you go to section 5 of the manual using the above link, there’s no definitive reason to tell you why the light is on. Instead, you’ve got to have some other issue going on.

So, what’s going on with the machine? Is it operating normally? Does the ice seem regular, and is it being produced at the proper rate?

Chances are you’ve got to clean and sanitize the machine properly and also make sure it’s level. A lot of issues in ice machines end up being related to those key points.

It means you have something out of spec that the machine safety circuit has shut the machine down for.   Is it solid, or flashing?   First off you have to get down to the bottom and open the control board. box. The board will have a led that tells you what safety it tripped on 1, 2 , or 3.  Then you can proceed to figure out why.  Water is 3, to long of freeze is 1, or to long of harvest is 2.  Make sure to clean the condenser when you clean and sanitize the machine.

Part Number 000014797 Rev02 05/18 Determining Which Safety Limit Stopped the Ice Machine: When a safety limit condition causes the ice machine to stop, the safety limit light on the control board continually flashes on and off. CONTROL BOARD SAFETY LIMIT LIGHT OPERATION, BEFORE THE POWER BUTTON HAS BEEN CYCLED ON/ OFF: Watch the safety limit lights on the control board: • SL#1 flashes = 3 or more 45 minute cycles • SL#1 continuously on = Six 45minute freeze cycles • SL#2 flashes = One 3.5 minute harvest cycles • SL#2 continuously on = 3 consecutive 3.5 minute harvest cycles • SL#1 & SL#2 flash = SL#3, neither float opened within 4 minutes of the freeze cycle.
