If you work in an establishment, the chef’s want them replaced all the time so they don’t have to clean them. And why not? It comes out of someone else’s budget. Our health inspectors can write them up for food encrusted gaskets. I remember running service and those restaurants take care of door gaskets because they pay for them. I’m embarrassed to admit, but I source black gaskets to hide the fact that no one cleans them properly. We’ve even caught chef’s cutting gaskets so we have to replace them, instead of taking a soapy rag and wiping it.

I like the H10 G also. I’ve got one that’s almost 30 years old & still works great, although you need power to use it. The cheap ones are a waste of money and will get you in trouble if you’re doing commercial work. The customer isn’t going want to pay you a second time because you left, or missed a leak.

Er…. I meant pumps…. not pimps 😂, shoulda stopped with that last beer 🍺

Yeah, to me the wiring diagrams are similar to a blueprint, but once you can look everything up, it’s prettynice. I also like the way every part has a number on it, so tech support can tell you exactly what part your looking for . They can walk you through it if you hav even a basic idea of what you’re doing. Just gotta remember to put a new label on the parts when you replace em. If your used to Hobart FT machines, you’ll love how much easier a lot of the repairs are….. pimps, elements, door springs…. are all much easier with the MI-Q. And the rack machines look easier also, but I haven’t really had to dig into one yet.

We are replacing all our dish machines with MEIKO, we’ve done several already and are doing the rest as they age out. We had Hobarts and Stero. I have nothing but good things to say about the MEIKO product. It’s an extremely well designed machine, you just need to get familiar with them. Also they SUPPORT theirproducts very well. You can call tech support and they will walk you through it.For an establishment trying to maintain their own equipment, you’ll find MEIKO is willing to work with you unlike a lot of the other brands. There wiring diagrams and the way they do things are a little different because it’s a German basedcompany, but once you figure it out it’s actually very simple. They have an excellent school also in Tennessee that you probably wanna go to if you’re getting alot of them. It’s about a week, but well worth the time.

I like a GOOD electronic leak detector (like the d-trek)to find a leak, then if you want to see it, use bubbles. My guess would have been a frozen evaporator from having it open to long. Depending on what controller you have, it may be able to give you some troubleshooting information. I know Traulsen used to have issues with the evaporator sensors failing and not allowing a proper defrost. That can be checked through the control.

I’ve seen those where the boiler develops a hole and drips on the igniter. It may not start until the boiler heats up.

I may not be describing quite right calling 2 pieces, but basically it’s hinged towards the bottom.when the ice drops the curtain barely swings out, drops almoststraight into the bin. I would check with Scotsman tech support, my experience with them has always been fantastic. They support their product very well in my opinion.

And there’s always knowing how to talk and deal with people (and the fine are of B.S.) I’ve found if you tell someone there’s nothing wrong with the equipment, they then keep complaining about it, trying to prove their right. But tell them you made some “adjustments “ to it, and they shake your hand telling you it’s never worked better, despite the fact you did nothing 😂

Some of those test themselves 3 times before staying lit , maybe there’s an issue during the self test. But definitely sounds like a gas build up. We had one that would blow the door open on ignition the first time. Turned out to be gas pressure.
