It doesn't make sense because what the equipment company told you does not check out compared to the manual:

    https://www.partstown.com/modelManual/BKP-CHXX_spm.pdf

On page 7: “The burner flame should be as blue as possible. However, there will be traces of orange and/or yellow from particles in the air burning in the flame. Slight yellow tips at the flame ends are acceptable.”

I alerted Lithium (formerly Jive) about this issue last week; it is possible they were doing testing or it is possible another user is marking old answers for some reason.

I agree that it is a nuisance and hopefully there is a solution that can be implemented soon.

One of the major issues with the acquisition of Jive is that there likely won't be much more development for this platform, now called Lithium-JX (formerly Jive-X). They should still be fixing bugs, however.

We are exploring options with the platform for the future. I've been working on the development of the new .com, so I apologize for the delay with this irksome issue.

  • Working with the host of this server to prevent old posts from coming to the top when people mark an item correct or helpful. Sorry about that guys.

  • Hi steen,

Since you didn't mention what model you have, I am not sure if this applies, but I did cross ref the part number you gave with a list of applicable models.

Some Nieco broilers have a reverse belt button to clear jams, however it appears that you must be actively pressing the button(s) to reverse the belt. So, yes, the belt can be reversed, but if your belt is always going the wrong direction, the control may have been improperly installed.

    Hi froggydiver,

If your Norlake R23-S isn't cooling well, there could be a few problems. First, have you ever cleaned the condenser? If there's a lot of dust or dirt blocking it, the unit can't get proper airflow.

Here's how to clean the Condenser Coil on a Norlake R23-S:
Disconnect the unit from power prior to cleaning the condenser coil. Periodic cleaning of
the condenser coil will aid the heat transfer of the refrigeration system and increase its
efficiency. Cleaning is recommended a minimum of every 6 months. To accomplish
this, remove the lower front grill from the cabinet. The condenser coil is located behind the
grill. Use a soft bristled brush to remove any dirt particles that are on the fins of the
condenser coil. Use a vacuum cleaner or compressed air to remove the loosened
particles. Replace the lower front grill and reconnect the unit to power. Failure to clean the
condenser coil can lead to performance loss and compressor failure.

These units need clearance for ventilation, too. The manual recommends 7 inches on all sides. If the refrigerator is near hot equipment, that could also be a problem for efficient cooling.

If the door is opened too frequently, is left open, or if the gasket has failed, that could be causing your issue as well.

Finally, be mindful of that you are not putting too much hot food into the unit. This is a refrigerator, not a blast chiller, so large amounts of hot food will increase refrigeration time.

John, this came to mind when I read that:

George Strait – “Ocean Front Property” – YouTube

Image result for i see what you did there meme

    Heh

  • fipe does say in his profile that he has 0-5 years experience on the cold side. That would make him a tech, albeit one not experienced on hot side.

    Also, welcome fipe!

Chlorine or chloramine depends on where you live and what your local government decides to use. I'd also recommend having that water tested to better understand what filtration systems you need.

ectofix is right as usual; you've got to sell the customer on why they really do need a filtration system.

Hopefully after pulling some heavily scaled units out of service, they now understand the very real cost of ignoring it.

I'm not sure why that is occurring. I will attempt to correct the error.
